Twisted Metal - TV Show (bite-sized review)

By: Lee Fenton

This article was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the hard work and dedication of the writers and actors, the movie being covered here wouldn’t exist. In fact, no films or television would.

We stand in solidarity.

Fantastic show! You can tell the cast have chemistry; visually colorful, and the filming is manic and zany; in just the right way.. As a fan of the original PlayStation game series - I will warn you that it differs from the source material quite a bit, but still maintains the spirit and aesthetic of the Twisted Metal franchise. Also it doesn't shy away from some of the darker content of the series, while utilizing humor, and camp - to contrast the splat-stick gore.

If you're a fan of Sam Raimi; and by extension the Evil Dead Series, you will more than likely love this. Great performances by Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Will Arnett, Samoa Joe, and the rest!

Arnett providing the voice of Sweet-tooth does an especially exceptional job. And Samoa Joe’s physical acting pairs perfectly, helping to bring the iconic video game character to the screen in a very fun and frighteningly, flamboyant way. Eat your heart out Bill Skarsgaard and Tim Curry!

There’s a new clown in town.
