10 Facts on the Original Scream Queen of Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis (a hugely iconic horror actress)

1. Jamie Lee Curtis did not grow up wanting to be an actor. In fact, even though she came from a family of actors she thought from a young age that she would be a police officer.

2. Her mother happens to be Janet Leigh. The star of Alfred Hitchcock's titular film “Psycho”. So, both Jamie Lee Curtis and her mother have held the title of Hollywood scream-queen.

3. Jamie Lee Curtis once auditioned to play the part of Nancy Drew in a film. Ironically, she later guest-starred in an episode of the Nancy Drew TV series. The episode was titled “Mystery of the Fallen Angels” [2]
4. Two days ago she reunited with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the first time in close to 30 years. Arnold was her costar in the massively successful 1994 blockbuster “True Lies”. [1]
5. She had gray teeth as a child. Jamie Lee Curtis' mother took a drug called tetracycline while pregnant which caused the condition. “My teeth were gray. I was not pretty. I was cute. *This fact illustrates that the unattainable standards of beauty that are presented in the media are simply not true. We all have flaws, even someone as stunning as Jamie Lee Curtis!
6. Jamie Lee Curtis has 56 films in her filmography - starting with “Halloween” in 1978 and ending with “Haunted Mansion”, which was released July 15th - 2023. She is set to star as Dr. Patricia Tannis in the planned 2024 release “Borderlands” a sci-fi action comedy film based on the hit video game series of the same name, directed by horror aficionado Eli Roth.
7. She had a role in the French-Italian-British semi-erotic drama “A Man in Love” which was entered in to the 1987 Cannes Film Festival. [3] (Although it is not labeled as an erotic film on Wiki or IMDB, this movie is riding the line between romance and erotica. Not a comment on it's quality – just striving for accuracy in my articles!)
8. Jamie Lee Curtis has always tried to be a role model for women and thinks that the character Laurie Strode of the Halloween series encompasses the best qualities of woman-hood. And I quote, “-Laurie Strode, who reflected women’s strength, intelligence and ability to shape shift, and fight back against the adversity that is coming at them and have since the beginning of time.” [4]
9. She was born in Santa Monica, California (USA)
10. Jamie Lee Curtis is godmother to Jake Gyllenhaal. Her and his parents have a close relationship and she's been a friend of the family for quite some time.
