Most of them I’ve seen myself, and I’ll say this in advance - you won’t be able to sleep with the lights out after viewing these terrifying movies. In fact, forget about sleep all together. Look forward to a night of locked doors and anxious thoughts.

Don’t say, ‘I didn’t warn you’.

Not for the faint of heart.

10. Slaxx (2020)

A splat-stick horror that mixes irreverent humor with it's already hilarious premise, to very beneficial results. And there's a human psychopath as well – cause why not?

A prequel to X (see above). The plot follows Pearl during the prime of her life. She’s longing to leave the small town she was born and raised in - for bigger, and better things. All that stands between her and a chance at stardom: is her family.

Well, Pearl isn't the type of girl to let anybody get in her way.

13. Munchies (1987)

Director: Tina Hirsch

Stars Harvey Korman, Charlie Stratton, and Nadine Van der Velde.

Munchies is a knock-off of Critters, which in turn is a knock-off of Gremlins.

It's directed by Tina Hirsch, editor of Steven Spielberg's famous smash hit horror-comedy Gremlins (yes, the movie I just mentioned).

This film is ultra-low budget, and the plot is essentially watching these little guys create as much havoc as they can - for the duration of the movie.

If you love trashy films with a heart, you should enjoy this relic of the 80s.
